What We Do

At the core of our mission lies a commitment to reshaping the conversation around youth nicotine product use. We recognize that traditional fear-based approaches have their limitations. That’s why we take a different path, one grounded in compassion, education, and change.

Through our carefully crafted programs and initiatives, we provide a safe space for young individuals to seek support and guidance. We empower them to break free from the grip of addiction, encouraging the adoption of positive coping mechanisms rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness practices.

Our youth-led chapters in schools champion healthy alternatives, promoting activities such as meditation, sports, arts, journalling, music, and support groups. By fostering a sense of community and belonging, we strive to redefine social norms, making the choice to abstain from nicotine products not just a smart one, but a genuinely cool one. Together, we’re creating a future where every young person has the tools and support they need to thrive!

What We Offer

Peer-led Hobby Sessions

Our members create a shame-free space on campuses for students to pick up a new hobby as an alternate coping mechanism. Accountability partners and habit trackers help build new support systems to phase out vaping.

Student Town Halls

Facilitated by local DBI chapters, students on campus organize to voice their concerns with a member of the student administration—sharing their experiences, how current approaches to vaping fail, and what student needs aren’t being met.

Bridge-the-Gap Seminars

From the latest devices out of the vaping industry to the newest teen fads, DBI works with parents and administrators to bridge the communication gap between teenagers struggling with addiction and adults with the power to help them.
